Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to modify the shape or structure of the nose to improve its appearance or resolve functional problems. This procedure is often performed to correct aesthetic imperfections such as humps, too wide or too long noses, as well as to reduce or increase the size of the nose to better harmonize with other facial features.

Rhinoplasty can also be performed to correct functional problems such as breathing difficulties caused by structural deformities of the nose, such as a deviated septum.

The rhinoplasty procedure can be performed using a variety of surgical techniques, but we prefer closed rhinoplasty, where incisions are made inside the nose.

  • Rhinoplasty is a relatively safe surgical procedure. However, like any surgical procedure, it carries certain risks and potential complications, including bleeding, infection or asymmetry.

  • Rhinoplasty may be an option for resolving specific aesthetic concerns related to the shape or size of your nose. Aesthetic concerns that rhinoplasty can help resolve include: correction of bumps or deformities, reduction of nose size, correction of nose tip shape, correction of nostril width, correction of asymmetries. It's important to note that rhinoplasty is a personalized procedure. Open and honest communication with Dr. Laungani prior to the procedure is essential so that we can discuss your specific goals and see if the anatomy you present allows these goals to be achieved.

  • If you have aesthetic concerns about the shape, size or symmetry of your nose, and these concerns affect you significantly emotionally or socially, or if you experience functional problems such as breathing difficulties caused by structural deformities of the nose, you may be a good candidate for rhinoplasty.

You must be in good general health and have no uncontrolled medical conditions that could increase the risks associated with surgery.

  • The recovery process after rhinoplasty varies from person to person. You may experience pain, discomfort, nausea or a feeling of nasal congestion. You can expect swelling and bruising around your nose and eyes that may persist for several weeks. The complete healing process may take several months, or even up to a year, for the final results of rhinoplasty to become visible. During this time, your nose will continue to refine and stabilize. Once the swelling has completely disappeared and the tissues have fully healed, you'll be able to appreciate the final results of your surgery.

  • Although we do not offer non-surgical or injection rhinoplasty at this time, Dr. Laungani will be able to advise and refer you during your consultation.

People around me say that my nose is my character. I've always found my nose disproportionate ever since I was a little girl. The rhinoplasty with Dr. Laungani changed my nose as I wanted it, but it didn't change my face! I'm happy with the natural result. I just wish I'd done it sooner!
